SolidCore
Welcome to SolidCore, Pilates’ tougher, sweatier cousin. SolidCore, the brainchild of Anne Mahlum, started in DC in 2013. And just like the workouts themselves, Anne is a force to be reckoned with.
Always an athlete, when Anne stumbled upon intensified Pilates, she found something deeper than just a workout. “My body was changing drastically after years of not really seeing any movement in my physical appearance. And I was kind of smart enough to do the math in my head on the business, what I was paying for class multiplied by how many machines were in there.”
She wasn’t kidding about doing the math. Anne grew SolidCore to over 30 locations in just four years, and, with the help of Peterson Partners, will open over 100 locations by the end of 2022. That means tens of thousands of clients seeing positive changes to their bodies. Talk about big impact.
“Our future is pretty bright and really sweaty.”
– Anne Mahlum
But what makes this change maker truly special isn’t just her ability to run a business that positively impacts its customers. Anne’s non-profit roots show a genuine disposition towards effecting change for the better. Prior to SolidCore, Anne started and operated Back on My Feet, a non-profit organization that uses the power of running to help those affected by homelessness. Since starting Back on My Feet, Anne and the organization have helped over 6,500 people find employment and housing with over 83% of members maintaining employment.
“…it starts with commitment, starts with ambition, starts with focus.”
– Anne Mahlum
“Anne is a high-energy performer and we saw great potential in adding talent and systems to help her scale this fabulous concept,” says Brett Stohlton, Operating Partner at Peterson Partners.”
